Did You Know About the Japanese Zodiac?

Everyone who's been to a Chinese restaurant has seen colorful place mats with the animals of the Chinese zodiac.

However, fewer people are familiar with the very similar Japanese zodiac.

Since much of Japanese Zodiac signs culture originally came from China (after which the Japanese put their own unique touches on it, often resulting in unique practices), the zodiacs are very similar.

The biggest difference is that the wild boar is included in the place of the pig.

However, the animals' meanings are still nearly the same.
